Ondato Brief
Ondato is a Lithuania-based KYC (Know Your Customer) platform offering end-to-end compliance solutions. While well-regarded locally in the Baltics, the company sought broader international recognition. In a sector where trust is paramount, Ondato needed to become more than just a solid product. It had to be seen as a credible, thought-leading voice in fintech compliance on the global stage.
Our mission was clear: elevate Ondato’s international profile, spotlight CEO Liudas Kanapienis as a thought leader, and secure high-impact media placements to support fundraising, growth, and expansion into new markets.
Our Approach
We launched Ondato’s global PR from the ground up. At the outset, the company had limited international media visibility. We began by amplifying key product updates and partnerships through trade and fintech media, establishing a foundation of credibility.
Strategic pillars:
CEO Profiling and thought leadership: We positioned Liudas Kanapienis as a knowledgeable and trusted source in the evolving world of KYC, KYB, and ID verification. From contributed articles to podcast appearances and expert commentary, we made sure his insights were consistently present in the right conversations.
We launched Liudas on the Forbes Council and placed multiple authored pieces in outlets like Biometric Update and Business Age, helping Ondato shape narratives around data privacy, regulation, and the future of compliance.
We facilitated interviews with leading industry platforms like PYMNTS and State of Identity, showcasing Ondato’s innovation through multimedia storytelling.
News and announcements: When Ondato raised €3.6M and made the strategic move to London during Brexit, we framed the story as a counter-narrative to the “Brexit exodus,” securing attention from national and business media, including The Telegraph.
We secured coverage for Ondato’s tech milestones, from its AI-powered OCR engine to major partnerships with STEX, Nexpay, and others, in outlets such as Finextra, The Paypers, Help Net Security, and Fintech Finance, among others.
Results
Over the course of two years, Ondato was featured in over 100 articles, interviews, and mentions across top-tier and trade media.

Ondato’s visibility grew in tandem with its reputation. In the latter years of the collaboration and beyond, the company was named to the Financial Times FT1000 list, appearing #137 in 2024 and continuing to make the list in 2025, an indicator of sustained growth and recognition.
Why It Worked
We didn’t just amplify Ondato’s news. We helped build a narrative around resilience, leadership, and trust in a sector where credibility is everything. The combination of timely news angles, sharp thought leadership, and consistent CEO visibility created lasting momentum that outlived our partnership. By sustaining results over the long-term, Ondato not only cemented its image, but also generated significant awareness.
From being a strong Baltic player to becoming a known and respected regtech name in European fintech circles, Ondato’s story was one of elevation—and we were proud to help tell it.
