Vertical: Identity, fintech
Startup HQ: United Kingdom 🇬🇧
Black Unicorn PR worked with Authologic, a Y Combinator-backed KYC startup, from April 2025 to June 2026. Through the collaboration, and our approach to digital identity and fintech PR, we helped make co-founder Jarek Sygitowicz a regular commentator on eIDs, eIDAS 2.0 and zero-knowledge proofs, with coverage in 37 titles including TechRadar, Entrepreneur, Biometric Update, Maddyness, The Fintech Times and more.
About Authologic
Authologic is a Y Combinator-backed British startup building eID-native identity infrastructure, often described as a “Stripe for KYC”. Its platform lets businesses verify customers with government-issued digital IDs and identity wallets, alongside the KYC methods they already use, through a single integration.
We started working together in spring 2025, a busy moment for digital identity. eIDAS 2.0 and the EU Digital Identity Wallet were on the horizon, the UK was debating age verification and a national digital ID, and AI-generated fraud was putting pressure on traditional document checks.
Objectives
Authologic wanted PR to do three things:
- Build visibility and trust with potential customers, especially fintechs and other startups that need to verify users
- Establish thought leadership in the digital identity industry
- Educate the market on eIDs, and in doing so make Authologic a credible voice on the subject
Digital identity is technical, hard to explain outside trade media, and often caught up in politicised debates about privacy. Coverage had to inform without sounding like a sales pitch.
Strategic Approach
Three media sectors, one voice
We positioned Authologic where three media sectors meet: identity trade press, fintech and regtech outlets, and startup and business media. Each reaches a different part of Authologic’s audience, from compliance and product teams to founders and investors.
The voice across all three was co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer Jarek Sygitowicz. We built his profile as a technical, policy-literate commentator on eIDAS 2.0, the EU Digital Identity Wallet, zero-knowledge proofs and the wider regulatory moment. He could go deep for specialist editors, then use analogies and everyday examples to bring the same argument to a general reader.
Thought leadership
Opinion pieces and interviews set out Authologic’s view on where identity verification is heading. One idea ran through them: identity checks should prove only what a business needs to know, without exposing everything else about a person. That gave Authologic a distinct position in a market where most players talk about catching fraud.
Riding the identity news cycle
UK age verification rules, Reddit’s age checks, the proposed British digital ID, the EU Digital Identity Wallet rollout, AI-generated fraud and stablecoin adoption all became hooks for commentary and bylines.
Podcasts and recognition
Podcasts became a second channel, with founder, fintech, identity and tech shows. Rankings added third-party credibility.

Results: fintech and identity media coverage
Over 14 months, Authologic was covered in 37 media titles across six verticals, from identity and fintech trade press to tech, business and lifestyle media.
In identity trade press, Biometric Update ran three pieces built around Authologic’s views, including an interview on the EU Digital Identity Wallet’s slow start and a byline on zero-knowledge proofs. Identity Week and ID Tech Wire followed.
In fintech and payments media, Jarek wrote for Finextra on identity wallets and stablecoins, and for The Paypers on what Europe can learn from Poland’s eIDs. Fintech Finance, The Fintech Times and FinanceX carried further pieces.
Beyond the trade, TechRadar ran his op-ed on social media age verification and Entrepreneur UK profiled him as a founder. techUK, BetaKit, Maddyness UK and The Recursive also carried his views, and Sifted featured Authologic among investors’ picks of Polish startups to watch.
Glamour UK took the argument to a general audience, with commentary on women’s privacy and safety online.
Jarek also appeared on six podcasts, including Foreign Founders, PayPod, The Cereal Entrepreneur and The CTO Show, and Authologic was ranked in the TechRound 100.

Why It Worked
A technical subject reached general audiences when it was tied to everyday life. Age checks on social media, women’s safety online and how Poles already use digital IDs made eIDs relevant to editors who would never run a piece on KYC.
Speed mattered too. Identity stories move with regulation and public debate, and Authologic’s quick approvals turned reactive requests into coverage.
